Village visit to Adderbury

Adderbury has some wonderful houses, a magnificent church with good medieval carvings, a Quaker meeting house, a team of Morris dancers and several good pubs. Lots of interest.

Led by members of the Adderbury History Society

10th June, 2021

6 pm

Visit to the Rollright Stones.

A circle of standing stones where it is said that it is impossible to count the stones and get the same number twice. We shall be led by Dr. George Lambrick, an archaeologist, who has written extensively about the stones and their place in the landscape and the prehistory of the area.

Annual General Meeting.

 Held in Middleton Cheney church, famous for its stained-glass windows.  These were  the work of Morris & Co, including several Pre-Raphaelite artists especially Burne-Jones.
